Internship Opportunities

There may be opportunities for students to benefit by participating in audit projects and to help the local community receive improved County services. The Multnomah County Auditor's Office reviews the quality and cost-effectiveness of County programs which are associated with some academic areas at local colleges and universities. For example, audits have reviewed capital construction processes, the juvenile justice system, jail personnel costs, elections, library management practices, mental health services, the financial condition of the County, and road project management activities.

It may be possible for students with skills and education in areas related to an audit to work with staff of the Auditor's Office, either as a paid intern or for course credits. The timing and type of student involvement would vary depending upon the audit work.
