Multnomah County Employee Recognition and Awards

Employee Recognition

We know recognizing and appreciating employees for their hard work is key to maintaining a dedicated and energized workforce. That is why Central HR provides recognition activities for Multnomah County Employees.

Currently the County recognizes their employees with the Service Awards that celebrate years of service ranging from 5-45 years. Also, individual departments have recognition programs—such as the DCJ, DCS, MCSO, Health Heroes, Library, and the Office of Citizen Involvement. These programs are enormously popular, with both citizens and our employees.

Central Human Resources coordinates the Multnomah County Employee Recognition Awards. This awards program allows employees to nominate their fellow co-workers in the categories of: Superior Public Service, Outstanding Team Achievements, Employee Innovation, Diversity/Cultural Competency, and Sustainability. Awards are presented by the Board of County Commissioners during national Public Service Recognition Week (May 5-11, 2013).  This year's ceremony is scheduled for May 8, 2013 at 10:30.

In addition to nominations by fellow employees, the residents of Multnomah County that we serve are also able to nominate county employees in 5 of the six categories.

Please, if you know of an employee or team who you feel is deserving of recognition, take a moment to fill out an online form to nominate them for an award.  The links to the forms are below.

Employee Awards by Nomination

An Employee Awards Selection Committee, with representation from all areas of Multnomah County, solicits and reviews nominations by other employees and residents. The committee selects award recipients once all nominations have been received. County employees should use the nominations on the Commons website, as you can nominate for one additional award from that site.
