Community Capacitation Center
The Community Capacitation Center (CCC) works to build capacity in communities to identify and solve their own most pressing health issues. We work to achieve this mission using five strategies:
- Community Health Worker Capacitation (empowering training)
- Popular Education
- Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR)
- Youth Violence Prevention
- Health Promotion Change Process
In 2007, Multnomah County Health Department adopted an organizational framework for empowering health promotion. The process of implementing the framework is referred to as the Health Promotion Change Process. Our goals include increasing our capacity to improve health by increasing people’s control over their lives and their health and promoting better coordination between Health Department staff and programs.
