About "Idling Gets You Nowhere"
Welcome to the "Idling Gets You Nowhere" Campaign
"Idling Gets You Nowhere" seeks to engage the public and increase our community’s knowledge about air pollution, specifically as it relates to idling motor vehicles.
Multnomah County is stepping up its commitment to create a community where residents and drivers can breathe easily. In partnership with the Oregon Toxics Alliance (OTA) and support from Portland State University and the City of Portland’s Mayor's Office, the County is launching an “Idling Gets You Nowhere” campaign. This campaign will be marked by efforts to raise awareness around air toxics, the strengthening of Multnomah County's internal anti-idling policy, and the development of a social media campaign that includes a website, an online pledge for individuals and businesses, and Facebook page.
