After a successful pilot year, Multnomah County and OSU Extension Service are partnering again in 2012 to offer the Beginning Urban Farmer Apprenticeship. The course includes classroom training, hands-on field work and a farm management workshop series focused on farm business planning. This innovative educational program is designed to give new and aspiring urban farmers and community land stewards the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to grow and market fresh vegetables, fruits, grains, cut flowers and other products in urban settings. This comprehensive, entry-level training begins April 4, 2012 and continues through mid-November 2012. Applications are being accepted from November 15, 2011 to January 15, 2012.
