Multnomah County Hosts Animal Behavior Conference Feb. 4-6
John Rowton, 503-704-2388
“Learning from Cats in Science,” “The Effects of Diet and Drugs on Dog Behavior” and “Coyotes in our Neighborhoods” are among the offerings at a unique animal behavior conference this weekend.
Multnomah County Animal Services is proud to host the Masters in Behavior conference Feb. 4-6 at the Sheraton Portland Airport (8235 N.E. Airport Way).
The conference beginning Saturday, Feb. 4 provides specialty training for professionals working in animal shelters and in animal behavior-related professions. Mike Oswald, director of Multnomah County Animal Services, says the three-day conference also offers a broad variety of opportunities for media members to report on the latest animal behavioral science.
“From the latest in assessing an animal’s personality to successful strategies for preventing house soiling and separation anxiety, the conference draws information from experts in animal behavior that all pet owners in our community can benefit from,” Oswald says. “The county’s animal shelter in Troutdale uses this science every day in helping people to adopt animals and providing the best care for animals.”
For the entire conference schedule, go to Multnomah County Animal Services.
