Research Online

Multnomah County provides information about recorded documents, property values, and taxes on the internet. Currently we maintain two websites:

MultcoPropTax

Provides Multnomah County property account values and tax information:

  • Public Access to property tax information is free with limited search capabilities by clicking on the Green Guest Login button (User ID and password is not required for the Guest Login). Check your property value, taxes due, property description, and much more. To find your property, enter the Account Number from your tax statement (e.g., R176816) or look up street address.
  • Our subscription based service provides expanded search capabilities that include: alternate account number, legal description, map and owner name. Application Form for MultcoPropTax (pdf).

MultcoRecords

Provides information about Multnomah County recorded documents since February of 2002 and is available by subscription only. This site is searchable by name, date, document type, etc. Application Form for MultcoRecords (pdf)

The data displayed represents portions of our live database and is delivered to you through an intermediary computer. The site was developed toward the needs of title companies and government jurisdictions and does not include the entire Assessment and Taxation database. Our data may also be made available to you in other formats (i.e., CD, printed reports) for a fee. Data Request Information and Instructions (pdf)

A subscription provides unlimited access to both websites and requires a one-time setup fee of $150 in addition to a small usage fee of $.24 cents per search. Subscription accounts are assigned individual user accounts and confidential passwords. Passwords will be assigned to each user of the web site; no "generic" passwords will be issued, and passwords are not to be shared or divulged. Usage is tracked by individual user for billing and security purposes. You will be billed for all searches performed by the names on your user list, regardless of when, where or why those searches were done.

Both MultcoPropTax and MultcoRecords are available for use free of charge in the Multnomah Building, Public Research Room whch is located at 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd., Portland, Oregon.  The Public Research Room also has microfilm property records and recordings predating the web site.

Property Tax information is also available, by telephone at (503) 988-3326.
