Multnomah County Motor Pool Goes Electric!

This week Multnomah County started using four new fully electric Nisan LEAFs in the motor pool. The four new LEAFs are electric vehicles that replace four older gasoline-fueled cars that will be retired from service. County employees can use the new motor pool LEAFs for work purposes. Each time an employee uses a LEAF, the county will save money on fuel costs -- the cost to run an electric vehicle is roughly 80 percent less than using a gas-powered car. At the same time, using these vehicles helps the environment, improves public health and takes us a step closer to energy independence.
