Meet program instructors, past students and take a tour of one of the county’s urban farms during the open house.

Registration for the program is open until Sunday, Dec. 1.

The Beginning Urban Farmer Apprenticeship is a seven-month program conducted as a partnership between Multnomah County and Oregon State University Extension Service that offers garden and urban-scale farming education to our community’s next generation of:

  • farmers
  • nonprofit garden managers
  • leaders in the local food justice movement
  • entrepreneurs interested in food production-based small business

The primary focus of the program is intensive vegetable production in urban and community settings. Instructors want to teach participants how to produce as much as possible in the smallest space possible.
